Technical Note

EMS configuration for TLS & sRTP

To enhance security, it is necessary to configure options related to TLS and sRTP in EMS SP and Customer Manager. These options help ensure secure communication and data transmission, protecting against potential vulnerabilities and unauthorized access. By properly configuring TLS and sRTP, you can strengthen the security measures.

 

1) SP configuration : EMS SP Portal > Customer Manager > Security

  • If Trunk Call SRTP option is enabled, each trunk call requests 2 VPCM channels. (256 ch. / VPCM)
  • If TLS option is enabled, additional CPU resources are required during switch over.
  • Before enabling these options, the service provider should carefully consider and allocate additional resources

            accordingly.

 

2) Customer Manager configuration : Customer Manager Portal > Company > Security

 

3) User configuration : Customer Manager Portal > User > User Setup > Device Tab

§  Only for 1000i phone

§  Default : UDP

§  Selecting ‘Follow Company Option’ is determined by option ‘b’

  • Default : Follow Company Option (determined by option ‘e’)

 

Setting security-related options can lead to resource consumption, so sufficient review is essential.

Tip

DDI Number "already exist" when attempting to add to Order

When attempting to add a new DDI number with a new order, the message "This number already exists and cannot be registered" pops up. However, the number does not appear in the list of DDIs.

The reason for this message could be that the number is used in a temporary order. Temporary orders can be deleted manually, or they are automatically deleted after a certain period of time, typically within 12 hours. It is essential to note that temporary orders are deleted without leaving any record of their existence.

 

To resolve this issue, please follow these steps:

-. Check if the DDI number is used in a temporary order. If so, proceed to the next step.

-. Delete the temporary order that is using the DDI number.

-. After deleting the temporary order, try to place the DDI order again.

 

By following these steps, you should be able to successfully add the DDI number to your new order without any issues.
